Nate bought me a beautiful silver Mini Cooper last year for my birthday. I’d been wanting a Mini for about 5 years and Nate told me that we could buy one when I saved half of the amount of the car. I was still several thousand dollars short (read: I kept spending it on clothes, vacations, eating out and tickets to Cirque du Soleil). After a 10-day trip to Seattle to visit my family I flew back to San Diego on May 19th, the day before my birthday. Nate picked me up from the airport in my new Mini Cooper!! I was absolutely shocked and started squealing and laughing and crying and I think I almost fell over a few times. He bought it off the lot and it only had a couple miles on it. I decided to name her Gidget after this girl and after the girl-mouse on “Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers, too.
So after a year of owning this amazingly beautiful car and being surrounded in Mini-type luxury we have sold her. We knew we’d have to sell her before moving to France so we definitely enjoyed every moment. We took a lot of road trips… Peoria, AZ for Mariners/Padres Spring Training, Las Vegas, Seattle/Bellingham, and so many trips around Southern California. We put almost 26,000 miles on her in one year. It was a great year.
We sold her last week with the help of our amazing friends Rob & Wendy Fitzgerald. They’ve been great friends to us and we can’t thank them enough for helping us out.
Goodbye Gidget. I loved you and thanks for all the great times.
