Lipa Noi Beach

Lipa Noi is a tranquil beach located on the west coast of Koh Samui. It is an island that is famous for its beautiful beaches, great resorts and hectic nightlife. Lipa Noi is a less visited area of the island that has the beautiful beach and great resorts without the nightlife.

As a result Lipa Noi tends to attract couples, families and pensioners who are well aware of how seedy the main tourist hubs of Chaweng and Lamai are, and prefer to stay clear of the far from wholesome side of island life.

The great thing about Lipa Noi is that although it is a very quiet area it is still only 10 minutes away by car or motorbike from the principal town on the island Nathon where there are plenty of shops and other amenities.

Lipa Noi beach has white sand and a line of palm trees. Since it is west facing it gets wonderful sunsets every night. Unlike other beaches on the west coast there isn’t a coral reef nearby. This means there aren’t any sharp pieces of coral on the seabed that can cut the feet of those wanting to swim in the sea.

The beach has a few bars and local restaurants. The best place to eat is Big John Seafood. It serves fresh seafood that has been lovingly prepared. People come from all over the island to eat at Big John Seafood.

Lipa Noi accommodation ranges from small resorts to luxury resorts. There are plenty of reasonably priced places to stay with communal pools such the Lovely Lipa Resort, Lipa Lodge Beach Resort and the Rajapruek Samui Resort. The best place to stay is the Kanok Buri Resort and Spa that features private pool villas on the beach.

For those wanting to detox and treat both body and mind there is the Samui Dharma Healing Center that specializes in fasting, meditation and colonic irrigation.

Although Lipa Noi doesn’t have the best beach in Koh Samui, it does have one of the most peaceful atmospheres of all the beaches on the island that makes it perfect for relaxing and recuperating.
